Ranchi, 16 January 2015: With just a few days left before the start of the Hero Hockey India League 2015, Ranchi Rays are all geared-up for the challenging league, where they will face the best players of the world. With Captain Ashley Jackson the team is very motivated and well-prepared for the 3rd edition of the Hero HIL.
Ranchi Rays have been practicing hard at their home ground Astro Turf Hockey Stadium at Morabadi and their experienced coach Harendra Singh is not leaving any stone unturned in the training session. As most of the players have been playing from the first season, the team combination is not a worry. However, they will face tough competition from top teams such as defending champions Delhi Waveriders and Uttar Pradesh Wizards, who will come on ground with new strategies.
Speaking after the practice session, Coach Harendra Singh said: “Our team Ranchi Rays is quite strong in all departments in this season and if everything goes per our plan, we have a strong chance to win the 3rd edition of the Hero Hockey India League. There are many factors with us like most of the players are the same from last season so our coordination is very good and all the players have gelled-up together very well.”
South African midfielder Austin Smith said: “Our team is very organised and well-prepared for the upcoming challenges and all are very encouraging and spirited. It’s also good to see MS Dhoni in our side and supporting us.”
Ranchi Rays will take on Kalinga Lancers on the inaugural day of the 3rd Hero Hockey India League on 22nd January 2015, in Bhubaneswar.
Hero Hockey India League will be telecasted LIVE on Star Sports.
