New Delhi, 14 February 2015: Riding high on their success against Dabang Mumbai, Kalinga Lancers are all set to clash with hosts Delhi Waveriders on their home ground on Sunday. In their previous outing, Defending Champions Delhi Waveriders had made a brilliant comeback to hold the Lancers for a draw. In the upcoming match where Kalinga Lancers will be looking at a much consistent performance, not giving the opponents any last minute opportunities to score, Delhi will step out on the turf to register a win and ascend in the Pool Table.
With just two wins, six lost matches and one draw, Kalinga Lancers have 16 points so far and will now play their last pool match against Delhi Waveriders with an intention to record a win and better their stand in the pools table, before the League enters the semi-final phase. Efficiently led by Vickram Kanth, the Lancers will put in their best endeavors to restrict the Waveriders from breaching their strong defence while their strikers will look at creating as many goal scoring opportunities as possible to emerge as victors.
Speaking ahead of the next match, Head Coach of Kalinga Lancers Jude Felix said, “I am happy with the way the team has performed in their last match. We managed to draw against the Waveriders in our previous encounter. This is also going to be a crucial game for us and I hope the boys will play similarly with utmost coordination and give their best. Delhi is a strong team and has been performing really well in the League so it’s going to be challenging for us.”
Kalinga Lancers will play Delhi Waveriders on 15 February 2015, at 1900 HRS IST at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.
