Chandigarh 10 February 2014: Hero Hockey India League will witness Jaypee Punjab Warriors taking on Kalinga Lancers tomorrow at Mohali. Seated in comfortable in the 2nd position on the point table Jaypee Punjab Warriors will look at continuing its strong form and give a tough time to Kalinga Lancers.
While Kalinga Lancers is finding respect for the good play that they have showcased in the last few matches, they realise that they also need to start converting the chances that they have been creating against the opponent. They will be looking at playing 70 minutes of strong hockey in the last 4 games of the first round of HHIL 2014.
It is yet to be seen if Jaypee Punjab Warriors yet again put a good show in front of their home crowd and whether Kalinga Lancers can beat the former on their home turf.
Speaking on their match against the Jaypee Punjab Warriors, Kalinga Lancers’ Head Coach Terry Walsh said “This will be a big test for us as Jaypee Punjab Warriors are one of the best teams in the competition. The match will definitely be difficult. For us, scoring goals will be the first priority. In the area of defence, we need to be careful in stopping them from scoring easy goals. The movement around the ground has been fine for the team.”
Barry Dancer, Head Coach, Jaypee Punjab Warriors said, “It feels nice to be back in Mohali after some good performances in away matches. This has given us a lot of confidence and we now aim to collect more and more points from our remaining three home games so that we comfortably secure a berth for ourselves in the semi finals.”
