Chandigarh, 16 January 2015: Jamie Dwyer led, Jaypee Punjab Warriors will don a new jersey this coming Hero Hockey India League due to start on the 22nd January 2015. The all new blue and yellow jersey was unveiled today at Mohali by the Captain Jamie Dwyer alongwith Head Coach Barry Dancer and will see cosmetic changes like the back of the jersey have a netted look and the horse in the logo getting a more prominent look.
The team will be seen sporting the new look when they clash against Dabang Mumbai on their opening match in Mumbai. The horse on the logo which was more faded in the previous jersey, now will sport a more prominent and dark look giving it a feeling of being strong and unbeatable. The new look of the horse also further goes with the thought when the logo was designed in 2011 denoting strength and pride. The new jersey even sports a netted back and which gives the jersey a more lighter feel and allows more air to pass through allowing the player to play more comfortably.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony Captain Jamie Dwyer said, “I am really impressed by the new look of the horse on the jersey and it already is giving me the feeling of being unbeatable. The entire team is upbeat and looking forward to the League and I hope going by the new look and feel of our jersey we stand with pride and walk away with the trophy at the end of the tournament.”
Speaking post the unveiling Coach Barry Dancer said, “the team is looking confident and this new look is making them look strong. The boys are upbeat and are aiming to stand by what the horse in the logo symbolizes and I am sure they will achieve what they could not last year.”
Jaypee Punjab Warriors is all set to take on Dabang Mumbai at the opponent’s home ground on 23rd January 2015 at 19:00 HRS (IST).
