Bhubaneswar, 01 February 2014: Host Kalinga Lancers will meet Delhi Waveriders in their next match scheduled on Sunday in the capital of Odisha. Delhi Waveriders have performed well in the tournament but have lost their last match against Jaypee Punjab Warriors in their home ground. The host team is yet to win a match in the tournament.
Speaking on the preparations for the next match against the formidable Delhi Waveriders, Terry Walsh, Coach, Kalinga Lancers Said, “We have got some injuries in the team and therefore plan accordingly. Delhi has a good team. Though they have lost their last match against Jaypee Punjab warriors, they will have a rest day which will help them come back. Our team is going on the ground to improve from our previous performance. We are learning from our earlier mistakes and trying to correct them in the next match. We hope to get good support from our fans.”
Speaking the match, Coach Delhi Wave Riders, Cedric D’Souza, Coach Delhi Waveriders said, “Our strategy for the tournament is simple. We are taking each match very seriously. Our aim is to perform well in every match as all the teams in the competition are very balanced and equally competitive. Playing against the home team is tough but I think it is performance that matters at the end of the day.”
Delhi Waveriders are a formidable side. Currently they are second in the points table with three wins in four encounters in the tournament. They were the runners up of the last edition of the Hero Hockey India League.
Kalinga Lancers’ are new entrant in the tournament. They are place in the bottom of the points tally with two losses in the two encounters they had. The host would like to take advantage of the home ground and win the match.
