New Delhi, 22 November 2013: The Hero Hockey India League Closed Bid 2013 took place at Hotel The Lalit in New Delhi today.
Out of 154 available players 49 were bought by the six franchises. During the Closed Bid Kalinga Lancers the new franchise of the Hero Hockey India League bought its all new 24 players while rest five franchises bought their new players in place of permanent withdrwals to complete their squads for the season 2.
Indian forward Ramandeep Singh secured the highest bid of USD 81,000 and will be joining team Uttar Pradesh Wizards from season 2014. While Ryan Archibald of New Zealand got the second highest bid of USD 71,000 from the new franchisee Kalinga Lancers.
