The Warriors will play to avenge their loss against the Waveriders in the opening match of HHIL 2014
30 January 2014, New Delhi: Delhi Waveriders have two back to back games on home ground and they will be clashing for the second time against the Jaypee Punjab Warriors tomorrow at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Last when they met on the opening day of HHIL 2014, Delhi Waveriders beat the Jaypee Punjab Warriors on the latter’s home ground.
Sitting at the top of the points table, Jaypee Punjab Warriors will like to continue their winning form by beating Delhi Waveriders tomorrow. Though their last match against the Waveriders will be on top of their mind and will not want to repeat the same mistakes which they did in their last outing against them. With more goal scoring chances in its last match against Delhi Waveriders the Warriors failed to convert the chances that they got and which costed them to bag the much required opening win. But the team has managed to win two back to back matches and will look at doing a hat-trick win tomorrow against Delhi Waveriders.
Speaking on their must win match tomorrow against Delhi Waveriders, Captain Jamie Dwyer said “ As a team we have gelled pretty well now and that has reflected in our performances in the last two matches. The game against Kalinga Lancers showed that we can be a dangerous side to beat. We now want to maintain this good form and get better and better after every game.”
Speaking on the preparations Head Coach of Barry Dancer said “The next few matches are going to be crucial for us as few results here and there can change our position in the points tally. At the moment, we are looking a pretty strong side and the boys are looking forward to tomorrow’s game.”
