Delhi Waveriders will be looking to further add to their chartbuster score in their last match before the semi-finals
Mumbai, 14 February 2014: Delhi Waveriders with the maximum points in the pool table is sitting pretty on the top with 34 points, will be clashing with Dabur Mumbai Magicians, who will be trying to put a break to Delhi Waveriders’ winning streak and also to mark their first win in this season of the Hero Hockey India League 2014 in Mumbai tomorrow.
While Delhi Waveriders is proving to be the toughest team this season, Dabur Mumbai Magicians will be looking at leveling the scores with the former. Where Delhi Waveriders will be aiming to further add to their lead in the pool standings, Dabur Mumbai Magician will be out on the field to try and put a dent on Delhi Waveriders’ scoring feat. With the likes of Sardar Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Simon Child, Jason Wilson, Akashdeep Singh and Talwinder Singh the Delhi outfit will not be in a mood to give in to the home team so easily.
Dabur Mumbai Magicians gave a good fight to the defending champions Ranchi Rhinos in their last match but lost the match by 1-0 at their home turf. The fans of Dabur Mumbai Magicians will look at their team giving a tough fight to the visitors by putting a stop to Delhi Waveriders’ winning spree. Glen Turner, the captain of Dabur Mumbai Magicians has to his credit of scoring 1 goal each in field goals, penalty corners and penalty strokes and will want to prove the Magicians’ mettle tomorrow.
Speaking on tomorrow’s match Captain Glen Turner, Dabur Mumbai Magicians said, “We are practicing hard and making our full effort to perform well in our next match against Delhi Waveriders. We definitely want to win tomorrow’s game. It will be good for us to finish the tournament on a stronger note.”
Speaking on team and expectations Head Coach of Dabur Mumbai Magicians M K Kaushik said, “We will go out and play well tomorrow. It is very much important for us to win and will try not repeating the mistakes in our game against Delhi Waveriders and the team has been working on that. I agree that the advantage will be with Delhi Waveriders as they have already qualified for the semi finals, hence they can go easy for tomorrow’s game but it’s very much important for us to win tomorrow.”
Speaking before their match against Dabur Mumbai Magicians, Captain Sardar Singh, Delhi Waveriders said,“Satisfied with the performance of our team in the last two games and the entire unit is motivated to have entered the semi-finals. Even though we have qualified for the next round, for tomorrow we will play with our full strength to win the match and further consolidate our position on the points table.”
Speaking on tomorrow’s match, Head Coach Cedric D’Souza, Delhi Waveriders said, “We cannot take Dabur Mumbai Magicians lightly. Mumbai is a strong team and they have proved it in their games till now. Although we have qualified for Semi finals but the team will be out tomorrow for a win.”
