Bhubaneswar, 12 February 2015: The Kalinga Stadium of Bhubaneswar will be hosting its last match tomorrow in the ongoing Hero Hockey India League 2015, where the visiting team Dabang Mumbai will be looking at registering their second win over Kalinga Lancers while hosts will be look to avenge their previous defeat against Dabang Mumbai which they lost with a marginal 1-2 scoreline in Mumbai.
When the two sides met in Mumbai, both Kalinga Lancers and Dabang Mumbai gave a tough fight to each other but Dabang Mumbai managed to edge past Kalinga Lancers by a margin of just one goal. Currently, both the teams are sitting at the bottom of the Pool Table and will be striving to conquer the match in order to avoid finishing at the last position in the league.
Kalinga Lancers will yet again get a chance to play amidst a cheerful and passionate home crowd. With the sole motive of winning the match, Kalinga Lancers will look forward to giving the spectators an opportunity to enjoy a jovial ending by overpowering Dabang Mumbai tomorrow. With Gurjinder Singh back in the squad, converting the all important penalty corners gets strengthened and this will boost the morale of the team to go for the kill.
Dabang Mumbai having secured a victory over Kalinga Lancers previously, has an edge over the hosts and will be looking at repeating the same results intomorrow’s match as well. Considering Dabang Mumbai’s last match defeat against Uttar Pradesh Wizards yesterday by 1-5, the team is expected to be in a vengeful mood and will go all out to win the match tomorrow against Kalinga Lancers.
Speaking on the match against Kalinga Lancers, Tom Boon of Dabang Mumbai said, “We have had a good match against Kalinga Lancers before and we aim to deliver similar results this time as well. We are trying to address all possible loop holes in the game played against Uttar Pradesh Wizards and will be aiming to convert as many penalty corners as possible.”
Adding further to Tom Boon’s comment, teammate and drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh of Dabang Mumbai said,“We are able to create good penalty corner opportunities but converting them successfully is a problem. We are working on it and we will be in a better shape tomorrow to play against Kalinga Lancers. We won against Kalinga Lancers the last time and we will try to win it again tomorrow.”
Dabang Mumbai will take on Kalinga Lancers tomorrow at Bhubaneswar at 1900 HRS IST.
