Lucknow, 01 February 2014: After defeating a strong side like Delhi Waveriders in their home ground, Jaypee Punjab Warriors looks confident for their next match against the host Uttar Pradesh Wizards on Sunday, 2nd February 2014 at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow.
Team Coach Barry Dancer, Jaypee Punjab Warriors said, “I feel confident as the team has shown improvement. Our performance in the last match against Delhi Waveriders was good. The team has depth and it is now coming out with every match. Uttar Pradesh Wizards are the title contenders for the tournament we have great respect for them. They have quality players and good depth in their side. We would identify their weakness and try to take advantage to turn the match in our favour.”
Jaypee Punjab Warriors have played four matches in the tournament and have won three. They are leading the points tally with 16 points. Uttar Pradesh Wizards have not lost any match in their last two clashes. They are placed third in the points tally with 10 points.
Uttar Pradesh Wizards finished 3rd in the inaugural edition of Hero Hockey India League. They were followed by Jaypee Punjab Warriors who finished 4th.in the inaugural edition.
