Mumbai, 8 February 2014: Post giving a tough fight to Delhi Waveriders in Delhi, Dabur Mumbai Magicians will be high in confidence and will be looking at a win against the Jaypee Punjab Warriors when they meet them at Mahindra Hockey Stadium in Mumbai today.
Barry Dancer coached, Jaypee Punjab Warriors is on a high and with 5 matches played, they have lost just 1 match and drawn 1. They team will be looking at continuing its winning form tomorrow in Mumbai against the Dabur Mumbai Magicians.
The Dabur Mumbai Magicians on the other hand post giving a tough fight to Delhi Waveriders in their last match when they had the game in their control for most of the 1st half of the match. Delhi Waveriders managed to take the game away from them in the few last minutes of the game which costed them match which was very well and strongly played. In a well contested match against the defending champions, Ranchi Rhinos, Dabur Mumbai Magicians did not allow the former to register a win against them which eventually resulted in a draw.
Speaking on the upcoming match Head Coach Barry Dancer, Jaypee Punjab Warriors said “We’ve had a bit of break after our last game against Uttar Pradesh Wizards, therefore it’ll be a challenge for us to regain the same intensity as we had in the first part of the tournament. The match against the Dabur Mumbai Magicians cannot be taken lightly as they have been showing great team work in the last few matches.”
Speaking on tomorrow’s match Captain Jamie Dwyer, Jaypee Punjab Warriors said “We’ve always done well against dabur Mumbai Magicians and we’ll try to keep our good run against them. Everyone in the team is rejuvenated after getting few days rest in Mumbai and we hope to have a good game against them.”
Speaking on the must win match Head Coach MK Kaushik, Dabur Mumbai Magicians said “Today’s match is crucial and we have to play to win the match. We will try and overcome the areas that we have been lacking in and improve ourselves today”.
Speaking on the team and expectations from the match Captain Glenn Turner, Dabur Mumbai Magicians said “The team has performed well in the last couple of games. Our strategy will be to be focused in the game today and finish off well. In the last game we missed a lot of opportunities and we are working hard to overcome those mistakes and perform better in our upcoming games”.
