New Delhi, 03 January 2015: In addition to the high-level of competition, the Hero Hockey India League also provides the best platform for all the young hockey players to showcase their talent in front of huge crowd. Amongst the budding talent, Kalinga Lancers’ Lalit Upadhyay will be the key player to watch in the Hero HIL 2015 as the 21-year-old forward drew attention of many hockey pundits in the previous season by showing striking skills and gutsy attitude towards the stronger teams. After his noteworthy performance, the Varanasi lad was selected for the recently concluded the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy 2015, where the national team finished fourth.
Scoring a goal in the previous season of the Hero HIL, Lalit aspires to play with more maturity and sensibility to materialise his raw passion into more goals, as well as help his team to perform better in the upcoming Hero HIL 2015, which will commence on 22nd January 2015. The young player will also be benefited by the presence of top hockey players in the forward line, such as Lucas Villa, Russell Ford and India’s Roshan Minz, and will work harder to match-up their performance.
Speaking on the upcoming Hero HIL 2015, Lalit Upadhyay said, “The Hero HIL 2015 will be a real challenge for us. The previous season was like testing the water as that was our inaugural season. This season, we have better strength, well-settled players and new recruits. We have brilliant players, such as Gonzalo Peillat of Argentina, Glenn Simpson of Australia and Ramon Alegre of Spain and Devinder Walmiki, who have the ability to turn the game on any given day. I have been working hard for the Hero HIL 2015 and hope to do well in this tournament.”
The inaugural day of the 3rd Hero Hockey India League will see Kalinga Lancers taking on Ranchi Rays on22nd January 2015, in Bhubaneswar. Hero Hockey India League will be telecasted LIVE on Star Sports.
