New Delhi, 14 November 2014: With a successful closing of today’s Franchise Workshop, the Hero Hockey India League now prepares for the Hero HIL Players Closed Bid 2014, scheduled to take place on 15th November 20014, for its third edition of the League.
With the roaring success of the last two editions of the HHIL where the league drew global admiration, HHIL announced its new franchises Dabang Mumbai and Ranchi Rays, which will be seen competing in the prestigious international event, scheduled to be held in January- February 2015.
Speaking on the Hero HIL Players Closed Bid 2014, Ms. Elena Norman, CEO, Hockey India League said, “It is a big day for all the Franchisees tomorrow. Where Dabang Mumbai will be looking at creating the right mix of players for their all new team, the rest of the teams will be looking at beefing up their present line-up. It will be interesting to see what will be the final pool of players for the franchisees tomorrow.”
The Hero HIL Players Closed Bid will witness top players from across the globe being taken by the top bidder amongst the franchise. Where a few star players are expected to be retained by the team franchise, a huge list of fiery young players up for grabs such as Harmanpreet Singh (Defender), Abhinav Kumar Pandey (Goalkeeper), Gurjinder Singh (Defender) and Nilankanta Sharma (Midfielder) to name a few, also including highly experienced players such as PR Sreejesh (Goalkeeper), Vikas Vishnu Pillay (Midfielder), Chinglensana Singh (Midfielder), is catching the attention of the franchises.
Some of the star international players up for the closed bid will see the likes of Tom Boon (Forward, Belgium), Glen Turner (Forward, Australia), David Harte (Goalkeeper, Ireland), Klaas Vermeulen (Midfielder, The Netherlands), Trent Mitton (Forward, Australia) and Mark Gleghorne (Forward, England).
